The Information Technology Management (ITM) unit manages WHO's cloud infrastructure and supports technical teams in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing applications through collaboration with product owners, developers, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provision, configure, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including VMs, virtual networks, App Services, and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Monitor performance, availability, and security; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Manage identity, access controls, and security compliance.
  • Execute backup, patching, disaster recovery, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
  • Support infrastructure-as-code, deployments, and DevOps practices.
  • Identify unused resources and cost optimization opportunities.
  • Lead deployment sessions, architecture reviews, and security assessments.
  • Plan and implement infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
  • Provide user support on VPN, Azure access, DevOps processes, and platform usage.
  • Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Bachelor's degree may be considered).
  • Certification: Mandatory Azure Administration certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate). AWS/GCP certifications are also valued.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in hands-on cloud infrastructure administration.
  • Language: Fluent English.
  • Nationality: Must be a national of a country other than South Africa.
