Pricing Specialist - 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Our client, a state-owned telecommunications infrastructure company based in Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Pricing Specialist on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, the successful candidate will develop and manage pricing strategies, models and policies for new and existing products, services and markets, ensuring that pricing is competitive, market relevant and supports the company's profitability.

• Pricing strategy — developing pricing strategies for new products, services and markets that maximise company profits, and driving the approved commercial model for projects and new market offerings.
• Market research and analysis — researching the market relevance of products and services, analysing the results and reporting on findings.
• Cost and margin analysis — performing cost analysis against pricing margins and obtaining approval from the CFO.
• Pricing models — developing competitive, market-relevant standard pricing models for Executive Committee approval, equipping the sales team to market them, and providing Key Account Managers with pricing models for customer-specific solutions.
• Proposals and negotiations — facilitating pricing proposals for tenders and projects, obtaining pricing committee approval, and negotiating pricing with customers where required.
• Policy, audit and reporting — managing the pricing policy and its regular review, resolving pricing audit findings with finance, sales and marketing, and producing monthly, quarterly and annual pricing reports covering proposals, break-even points, customer profitability and market trends.

Qualifications

Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.

CIMA professional registration advantageous.

Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Pricing Analyst or in a comparable role

Minimum 3 years' experience in a telecommunications environment.

Minimum 3 years' experience in developing and defining pricing structures.

Strong knowledge of market research and statistical analysis, with high attention to detail.
