Hospitality & Events Manager

We are looking for an experienced Hospitality & Events Manager to join Rooilande Guest Farm, situated near Matjiesfontein in the Western Cape.

Rooilande is an established guest farm offering chalet and guest-house accommodation in a remote Karoo setting. We are also nearing completion of a wedding chapel and have a function venue suitable for approximately 50 guests.

This is a hands-on, live-in management role for someone who is comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the property while helping us grow the weddings, functions and events side of the business.

• Guest relations and overall hospitality management

• Accommodation operations, reservations and online booking platforms

• Staff management and training

• Housekeeping and property standards

• Food and beverage coordination

• Weddings, functions and event management

• Supplier and stock management

• Budget and cost control

• Marketing and business development for weddings, functions and accommodation

• Coordinating maintenance and general operational requirements

We are looking for someone with substantial experience in hospitality management, preferably within guest houses, lodges, boutique hotels or similar properties.

Experience in weddings, events, banqueting or venue management will be a significant advantage.

The successful candidate must be comfortable living and working on the farm and operating independently in a rural environment.

Previous live-in or remote lodge experience would be beneficial.

We are particularly interested in someone who can combine strong operational management with excellent guest service and who can help develop Rooilande into a destination for intimate weddings, celebrations and private functions.
