Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Integration Developer to join a major telecommunications consortium project. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex integrations between critical network management systems, IT service management platforms, and corporate collaboration tools.

This role requires a specialist who can bridge the gap between network operations (Ciena NMS) and enterprise IT systems (ServiceNow, SharePoint, Microsoft Graph) using standard and proprietary APIs (TAPI, REST, MADAPI).

Key Responsibilities

API Integration Development: Design and implement robust integration flows connecting the Ciena Network Management System (NMS) via TAPI (Transport API) to internal OSS/BSS and IT systems.

ITSM & Workflow Automation: Develop integrations with ServiceNow using REST APIs to automate incident management, change requests, and inventory synchronization.

Collaboration & Data Management: Implement solutions using Microsoft Graph API to manage and interact with consortium SharePoint sites, including document handling, site provisioning, and permissions.

Messaging & Middleware: Utilize Haraka (SMTP server) via MADAPI to handle specific messaging and notification requirements within the consortium architecture.

System Architecture: Collaborate with solution architects to translate business requirements into technical integration designs.

Testing & Deployment: Create and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. Manage deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for integration artifacts.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot API failures, and ensure high availability of data flows between systems.

Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation for all integration interfaces, mappings, and configurations.

Technical Requirements (Essential)

Telecommunications OSS/BSS Experience: Strong background in the telecommunications industry, specifically working with network management systems.

Ciena NMS & TAPI: Hands-on experience integrating with Ciena NMS. Deep understanding of the TAPI (Transport API) standard and its implementation for network resource discovery and service provisioning.

ServiceNow: Proven experience developing against ServiceNow REST APIs. Familiarity with ServiceNow data models (CMDB, Incident, Change) is crucial.

Microsoft Graph: Expertise in using Microsoft Graph API for SharePoint Online administration and data manipulation.

Haraka & MADAPI: Experience with Haraka (Node.js SMTP server) and MADAPI for messaging protocols.

Programming Languages: Proficiency in Node.js (required for Haraka), JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python or Java for general integration logic.

API Protocols: Strong understanding of REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.

Technical Requirements (Desirable)

Experience with other Ciena platforms (e.g., Blue Planet).

Familiarity with TM Forum Open APIs (ODA).

Experience with message queuing systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka).

Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Soft Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in software development, with at least 3 years focused specifically on systems integration in a telecom environment.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex multi-system issues.

Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a consortium environment, collaborating with multiple vendors and stakeholders.
