BI Developer - SQL / Data Warehousing

Our client, a leading financial services organisation based in Morningside, Sandton, is looking for an experienced BI Developer to join their Business Software Solutions team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining Business Intelligence and SQL Data Warehouse solutions, while supporting operational reporting, dashboards and data visualisation.

• Design, develop and maintain Business Intelligence solutions.
• Design and maintain operational reports, dashboards and data visualisations.
• Develop and maintain SQL Data Warehouse solutions.
• Identify and resolve reporting and data-related issues.
• Liaise with developers and business analysts to optimise poorly performing queries.
• Recommend improvements to reporting solutions and processes.
• Provide technical support and diagnose incidents relating to BI solutions.
• Implement solutions or escalate technical issues to relevant IT teams or vendors.
• Ensure BI-related incidents and service requests are resolved effectively.
• Assist with maintaining optimal performance of BI and reporting environments.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a BI Developer / Data Warehouse Developer role.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining BI solutions.
• Strong SQL / Data Warehouse experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or certification would be advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with maturity and discretion.
• Willingness to work occasional after-hours when required.

Salary: Up to R35,000 per month, depending on experience with annual bonus.
