A well-established Accounting Firm in Somerset West is seeking a newly qualified SAIPA Accountant to join its team. This opportunity is suited to a recently qualified Professional Accountant who is ready to apply their practical training and take on greater responsibility within a professional accounting environment. The successful candidate will work with a variety of client portfolios and gain continued exposure to accounting, financial reporting and tax-related functions.

  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of clients
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts
  • Prepare annual financial statements
  • Perform accounting reconciliations and review financial records
  • Process and review journals and other accounting transactions
  • Assist with VAT, PAYE and other SARS compliance requirements
  • Prepare income tax and provisional tax calculations
  • Assist with client queries relating to accounting and tax matters
  • Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and supporting documentation
  • Review bookkeeping work and supporting schedules where required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable accounting and statutory requirements
  • Manage multiple client portfolios and meet relevant deadlines
  • Provide support and guidance to junior team members where required
  • Relevant BCom Accounting degree or equivalent qualification
  • Newly qualified SAIPA / Professional Accountant
  • Practical experience gained within an accounting or professional services firm
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Exposure to annual financial statements and management accounts
  • Working knowledge of VAT, income tax and SARS compliance
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client portfolios and deadlines
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software will be advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
