About The Job
The CSIR has a vacancy for Technologist: Cosmetics Lab within
Agroprocessing in the Advanced Agri and Food Cluster. The incumbent will provide technical support within the Agroprocessing Research Group, cosmetic laboratory and in charge of day-to-day operations by assisting with the formulation development, analytical testing, troubleshooting and project reporting This position is based in Pretoria.
This position reports to the Senior Researcher: Agroprocessing Enterprise Upscaling and Acceleration

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing formulation development and optimization;
- Provide regulatory and documentation support;
- Ensure method development and validation;
- Perform analytical testing and data analysis;
- Ensure laboratory compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards during audits;
- Coordinate cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively to ensure deadlines are met;
- Participate in cosmetic laboratory audits;
- Assist with scale-up and commercialization activities.
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
- A BTech or BSc degree in chemistry or analytical chemistry, with at least two years' experience in a cosmetic laboratory environment;
- At least two years in cosmetic formulation development and a valid driver¿s licence will be advantageous;
- Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and quality assurance systems;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams;
- Ability to solve problems;
- Analytical skills;
- Written and verbal communication;
- All international qualifications require an evaluation report/certificate issued by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
