ROLE SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, leading and coordinating projects from initiation through delivery and controlled transition into Business as Usual (BAU).
1. Purpose of the RoleThe Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, coordinating and delivering projects that support business strategy, client commitments, operational improvement, transitions, transformation initiatives and technology change.
The role acts as the central point of coordination across impacted functions, ensuring that agreed outcomes are delivered within approved scope, schedule, budget and quality expectations. The Project Manager establishes effective governance, manages risks and dependencies, enables timely decision-making and supports a successful handover into BAU operations.

Responsible Use of AI in Project Delivery
Core responsibilities
Indicative success measures
• Use only approved AI tools and authorised data for project activities.
• Identify suitable AI use cases for planning, analysis, reporting, meeting follow-up and administrative automation.
• Confirm business purpose, ownership, risk assessment and approvals before introducing or materially changing an AI solution.
• Protect confidential, personal, client and regulated information in prompts, source data and outputs.
• Apply meaningful human review and remain accountable for AI-supported decisions and deliverables.
• Check outputs for accuracy, completeness, bias, fairness, source quality and intellectual-property concerns.
• Be transparent when AI materially contributes to an analysis, recommendation, decision or deliverable.
• Use aligns with approved processes and client commitments
• No unauthorised disclosure of sensitive information
• Evidence of review and approvals retained
• AI risks and limitations actively managed
• Productivity benefits without weakened quality or accountability
3. Minimum RequirementsEducation
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Business, Commerce, Operations, IT or a related discipline.
Experience
- 5 years’ demonstrable experience coordinating or managing cross-functional projects.
- Experience in planning, governance, reporting, stakeholder management and RAID control.
- Experience in business change, operational transition, technology implementation, client onboarding or transformation is advantageous.
Professional Qualifications
- A recognised certification such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, PMP, APM, Agile or Scrum is advantageous.
Technical Capability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, financial tracking, governance reporting and collaboration tools.
- Practical understanding of approved AI tools for planning, reporting, analysis, risk management and workflow automation.
- Awareness of data protection, security, privacy, transparency, fairness, human oversight and accountability.
- Ability to write clear prompts, assess sources and critically validate AI-generated outputs.
- Commitment to completing required AI training and keeping current with approved guidance.
