JUNIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR - BUILDING CONSTRUCTION

Our client is looking for a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to develop their career within the building construction environment. The successful candidate will support the commercial team with measurement, cost control, valuations, procurement and general quantity surveying functions across construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with measurements and preparation of Bills of Quantities.
• Support project cost tracking and budget monitoring.
• Assist with monthly valuations and payment certificates.
• Review subcontractor measurements and claims.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement and commercial documentation.
• Monitor project expenditure and maintain accurate cost records.
• Assist with variations, claims and final accounts.
• Review drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Assist with tender pricing and cost estimates.
• Compile reports and maintain project commercial records.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and project teams as required.
• Provide general commercial and quantity surveying support to the project team.

Requirements

• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or relevant studies.
• Previous exposure to building construction will be advantageous.
• Understanding of basic quantity surveying and construction principles.
• Good numerical and analytical ability.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a construction environment.
