Customer Success and Google Ads Specialist

Adbot

Help Businesses keep their Google Ads campaigns live and bringing in new customers, while you learn how a fast-growing ad tech startup is built from the inside.

About Adbot

Adbot gets Business Owners and in-house marketing teams new customers. We build the engine behind their Google Ads: a website wired so Google recognises every real sale, tracking that works, and campaigns that keep learning who the buyers are.

We are a Cape Town team serving customers in South Africa, across Africa and in the UK. Our values are simple:

  • Obsessed with growth: ours, our customers' and yours
  • Bots do it better: we automate the repetitive work so people can do the thinking
  • We find a way: no problem gets handed back unsolved
  • Equally valuable and accountable: everyone owns their results
  • Our customers are the bomb.com: their success is our success

The role

You keep our customers' campaigns alive and their confidence high after they go live.

Your key goal: keep every customer's account live and active. A paused campaign or a quiet customer is a customer at risk of leaving. You make sure their ads keep running, their questions get answered and they stay with us.

Most customers sign up, complete their setup and launch online without speaking to anyone. Once they are live, questions come up. A campaign gets paused, an ad gets disapproved, a result doesn't make sense. That is where you come in: you listen, find the real issue, explain it clearly, and where needed, go into the Google Ads account and fix it yourself.

You will work closely with our PPC Manager. You are the customer's day-to-day contact, and the PPC Manager manages the account strategy. You bring them what customers are saying and what you see in the accounts, and you take their answers and plans back to the customer.

This is half customer success, half hands-on Google Ads. It is also a startup role, so it will grow. As Adbot grows, you will pick up new responsibilities, and the people who lean into that are the people who grow fastest here.

What you will do

Customer success

  • Be the first point of contact for live customers by email, WhatsApp and phone
  • Help customers explain the issue they are having, ask the right questions and find the real cause
  • Explain how the Adbot platform works: features, reports and what happens behind the scenes
  • Explain results in plain language, so customers understand what their numbers mean and whether their campaign is working
  • Spot paused campaigns and customers who have gone quiet, and reach out before they leave
  • Help with billing and payment questions, and escalate what you can't solve
  • Log recurring questions and turn them into help articles and FAQs
  • Pass bugs and feature requests to the product team with clear, reproducible detail

Google Ads

  • Go into customers' Google Ads accounts to diagnose and fix what is stopping a campaign: disapproved ads, policy issues, payment holds, limited budgets, paused campaigns and conversions that aren't recording
  • Check that conversion tracking is firing, working with our data analyst when it isn't
  • Know when a problem is beyond you, and bring in our PPC Manager with everything they need to solve it quickly

What you bring

  • Real Google Ads experience, even a little. Campaigns you ran for freelance clients, a side hustle, an agency internship or your own business all count. Six months on live accounts beats two years of theory.
  • The basics, solid: campaign structure, keywords and match types, negative keywords, ad copy, budgets, bidding strategies and conversion tracking. You know what CPC, CPA, conversions and ROAS mean.
  • Direct client experience. You have dealt with customers yourself, ideally as a freelancer who had to win the work, manage expectations and keep clients happy.
  • Clear communication. You write and speak English clearly and warmly, and you can explain something technical without making anyone feel stupid.
  • A Google Ads Search certification, or the drive to earn one in your first three months.
  • Comfort with Google Sheets and learning new tools quickly.
  • Initiative. You look for the answer before you ask for it.

Bonus points

  • Freelance work across several clients (web, social or marketing)
  • GA4 and Google Tag Manager
  • Meta Ads experience
  • Basic website know-how: WordPress, landing pages or no-code builders
  • Support tools such as HubSpot, Intercom, Zendesk or WhatsApp Business
  • Afrikaans, isiZulu, isiXhosa or another language our customers speak
  • Previous startup experience

Is this you?

We are building something bigger than any one job, and we want people who want to build it with us.

You will thrive here if

  • You get excited when you don't know how something works yet, and you go and find out
  • You own a problem until it is solved instead of passing it on
  • You are comfortable with a role that changes. Today it is customer success and Google Ads. In six months it might include onboarding calls, documentation, reporting or training the next hire.
  • You care whether the customer gets results, not only whether the ticket is closed
  • You want to grow faster than a corporate ladder allows

This role is not the right fit if you are looking for a fixed 9 to 5 with the same tasks every day, you need step-by-step instructions before you start, or you prefer to do what is required and no more. That is a valid choice. It just isn't what a startup needs, and we would rather say so upfront.

You manage yourself

We don't chase people for work. Nobody will check in every day to ask what you have done, remind you of a deadline or follow up on a task you said you would do. At Adbot, that is your job.

That means you:

  • Know your priorities each day and get started without being told
  • Finish what you commit to, by when you said you would
  • Update the team on your progress before anyone has to ask
  • Flag a problem or delay early, with a suggested way forward
  • Spot work that needs doing and do it, or raise it
  • Follow up with customers until their issue is solved, without being reminded

If you need someone to check in on you before the work gets done, this role is not for you.

What you get

  • Hands-on experience across Google Ads, conversion tracking, GA4 and AI automation, skills that are in demand everywhere
  • A front-row seat to how a funded ad tech startup is built, working directly with the founder and a small, senior team
  • Room to grow into a bigger role as the company grows, based on what you take on and deliver
  • Salary: R26,000 per month (gross)
  • Location: Cape Town office, hybrid (mostly remote)
  • Hours: 8am to 5pm
  • Start date: November 2026

How to apply

Email ***email_hidden*** with the subject line "We find a way" and include:

  1. Your CV
  2. A few lines about a Google Ads account you have worked on: what the problem was, what you did and what happened

"Hi, my ads stopped showing yesterday and I haven't changed anything. Am I still being charged? What's going on?"

Write the reply you would send the customer, then list the first three things you would check in their Google Ads account. Applications without all three parts won't be considered.
