Packaging Machine Technician

An opportunity is available for a technically skilled Packaging Machine Technician to join our client’s packaging facility in Gauteng. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical support to ensure packaging machinery operates efficiently, reliably, and with minimal downtime

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot packaging machinery and production equipment
• Perform planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-system faults
• Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and commissioning
• Monitor equipment performance and identify potential failures
• Support machine upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects
• Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
• Ensure machinery complies with safety and operational requirements

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Millwright/ Fitter Trade Test
• Experience maintaining packaging machinery
• Packaging industry experience
• Mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems advantageous
• PLC, HMI, and VSD experience advantageous
