Senior Materials Technician

Our client is looking for a Senior Materials Technician with solid experience in road infrastructure projects to contribute to the successful delivery of SANRAL and Provincial projects. This opportunity is ideally suited to a technically strong professional who understands COTO requirements and is confident working across construction sites and materials testing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake material sampling and testing in accordance with applicable specifications.
• Conduct routine and specialised testing of construction materials.
• Verify that materials and workmanship comply with project requirements.
• Support quality assurance and quality control activities throughout the project.
• Compile and maintain accurate test reports and technical records.
• Communicate test findings and non-conformances to relevant project personnel.
• Work closely with site and engineering teams to address materials-related concerns.
• Ensure testing activities are carried out safely and accurately.

Key Requirements

• 8+ years of experience
• Relevant Civil Engineering or Materials Testing qualification.
• Senior-level experience in materials testing within the roads and infrastructure sector.
• Previous exposure to SANRAL and Provincial road projects.
• Practical knowledge of COTO requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant road construction materials and testing procedures.
• Ability to interpret project specifications and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and sound reporting skills.
• Valid driver's licence.

Contract: Limited duration, through to April 2027
