We are seeking an aspiring Business Unit Manager with 8–10 years’ progressive experience in Learning and Development, training, professional services or compliance educationt. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in strategic planning, business development, revenue growth, profitability, budgeting and client relationship management. The role requires an experienced leader who can manage multidisciplinary teams while overseeing training delivery, accreditation, quality assurance, governance and compliance.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute the Academy strategy, annual plan, budget and growth priorities.
  • Drive achievement of agreed revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, margin and cash-flow targets.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline, identify opportunities and convert them into profitable training engagements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and oversee proposals, renewals, cross-sell and new business development.
  • Oversee training delivery, learning design, accreditation, quality assurance, training administration and learner support.
  • Manage the ISO, OHS, Environmental, Labour, GRC and Companies Act training portfolios.
  • Monitor programme delivery, learner volumes, facilitator utilisation, quality, profitability, client commitments and risks.
  • Lead, motivate and develop managers, facilitators, learning professionals and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation, quality, legislative, contractual, record-keeping, governance and ethical requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in learning design, delivery methods, productivity and client or learner outcomes.
  • Provide accurate financial, sales, operational, accreditation, learner, people and risk reporting.
  • Identify and drive innovation, digital learning, new programmes and strategic partnerships.
  • Promote teamwork and uphold Inlexso and Cluster values, ethical standards and accountable leadership

Your Expertise

  • 8 to 10 years’ progressive experience in Learning and Development, training, professional services or compliance education.
  • At least 5 years’ management experience leading managers, facilitators, learning professionals or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven accountability for revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, margins, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, pipeline management and profitable opportunity conversion.
  • Experience overseeing multiple training portfolios, accreditation, quality assurance and programme administration.
  • Experience in client relationship management, learning delivery, governance, compliance and performance reporting.
  • Proven ability to execute strategy, improve operations, build capable teams and lead change.

Qualifications

  • Qualification Essential
    • Relevant degree in Education, Learning and Development, Human Resources, Business Management, Law, Compliance or a related field.
    • Relevant assessor, moderator or skills development practitioner qualification where required for accreditation oversight.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Postgraduate qualification in Learning and Development, Business Management, Education, Compliance or Law.
    • MBA or equivalent management qualification.
    • Additional qualification in quality management, OHS, environmental management, GRC, ISO or adult education.
