We are seeking a motivated and target-driven Debt Collection Agent to recover outstanding accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and engage professionally with customers. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.
Contact customers via telephone, email and other communication channels to recover outstanding debts.
Manage and follow up on allocated accounts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Negotiate suitable payment arrangements with customers.
Process and accurately record payments and payment arrangements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and account activity.
Resolve customer queries and provide appropriate assistance regarding outstanding balances.
Meet and exceed monthly collection and recovery targets.
Follow up on broken or missed payment arrangements.
Escalate accounts where necessary in accordance with internal procedures.
Ensure all collection activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations and company policies.
Provide regular feedback and reporting on collection activities and account performance.
Maintain a professional and respectful approach when dealing with customers.
Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
Must reside in Pretoria
Previous experience in debt collection, credit control, telesales or a call-centre environment will be advantageous.
Proven experience working towards and achieving targets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
Confident and professional telephone manner.
Good computer literacy and ability to work with collection/account management systems.
Strong attention to detail and accurate administrative skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated, resilient and results-driven.
Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and maintain a customer-focused approach
