FINANCE OPERATIONS & ANALYSIS MANAGER

Our recruitment agency is currently supporting a leading company in the port sector in the search for a highly experienced Finance Operations & Analysis Manager to join its team in Maputo.

The Finance Operations & Analysis Manager will lead and oversee the implementation, development, and management of Finance and Accounting policies, ensuring sound financial governance, compliance, and performance.

Requirements

• Mandatory: 6 –8 years;

• Preferable: 10 –12 years;

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Management Accounting;

• Managerial experience: Minimum 5 years;

• ACA qualification provided additional advantage;

• Strong computer and financial systems proficiency;

• Strong decision -making and analytical skills;

• Experience in the Finance Department of a multinational organization or port environment;

• Integrity and strong ethical standards;

• Adherence to work standards.

Responsabilities

Financial Planning & Budgeting

• Coordinate the preparation of budgets with the Heads of Departments;

• Ensure the accuracy and consolidation of annual budgets;

• Monitor adherence to approved budgets;

• Participate in budget planning meetings;

• Ensure that expenses remain within approved budget allocations.

Controls, Compliance & Reporting

• Define and implement internal control systems;

• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures;

• Manage the company’s financial reporting;

• Conduct financial analysis and identify opportunities for cost and revenue efficiencies;

• Prepare and analyse monthly and annual financial reports;

• Analyse variances between budget and actual results and report the underlying reasons;

• Ensure the submission of statistical reports to relevant authorities.

Business & Commercial Analysis

• Analyse operational performance indicators and prepare monthly performance reports;

• Conduct rate and tariff analysis and impact simulations;

• Assess the commercial and financial viability of projects;

• Conduct market analysis related to rates and tariffs;

• Develop short-, medium-, and long-term competitive analyses;

• Analyse port and commodity statistics and present trends and developments to Management.

Billing & Accounts Receivable

• Manage the invoicing and accounts receivable function and team;

• Oversee account reconciliations and collection processes.

Team & Performance Management

• Implement systems and process improvements;

• Establish KPIs, performance standards, and best practices;

• Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures;

• Plan and monitor training programmes for finance personnel;

• Monitor and analyse MIS reports;

• Conduct periodic performance reviews and support performance improvement initiatives.
