- Receiving & Unpacking: Inspect incoming shipments for damage, verify quantities against delivery notes/manifests, and record discrepancies.
- Stock Storage: Classify, label (barcodes/tags), and store goods in designated rack or floor locations.
- Picking & Packing: Read picking slips, pull ordered items, pack them securely, and prepare them for dispatch.
- Loading & Offloading: Move heavy items manually or use warehouse equipment to load/unload delivery vehicles.
- Inventory Control: Assist with cycle counts, stock-takes, and updating digital or paper logs.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Keep walkways clear, follow health and safety guidelines, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 certificate (essential for most formal roles in South Africa).
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a warehouse, store, or logistics environment (specializing in electrical, solar, or FMCG goods is often preferred).
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long hours, and perform manual handling.
- Skills: Basic stock control, reading picking slips/product codes, and familiarity with inventory software or handheld scanners.
