Take the next step in your nursing leadership career within a specialised Cardiac Intensive Care environment in Centurion, Gauteng. This position offers an opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to lead clinical care while overseeing the effective day-to-day functioning of the unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the CICU.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred nursing care.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to the nursing team.
- Monitor patient care and ensure appropriate management and escalation of critically ill patients.
- Coordinate staffing requirements and support effective staff allocation within the unit.
- Ensure adherence to professional nursing standards, hospital policies and applicable healthcare legislation.
- Monitor infection prevention, patient safety, quality assurance and risk management practices.
- Manage the effective utilisation of equipment, stock and other unit resources.
- Monitor operational expenditure and assist with effective financial and resource management.
- Support staff development, performance management and clinical training initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation.
- Collaborate with medical practitioners and the multidisciplinary team to promote continuity and quality of care.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Diploma in General Nursing or BCur Degree, or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
- Compliance with the SANC Code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable healthcare legislation.
- Intermediate level of computer proficiency.
- Sound financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data.
Preferred
- Relevant Management qualification.
- 2 or more years' experience in a private hospital setting.
- Experience in clinical leadership.
- Strong organisational, communication and people management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a specialised critical care environment.
