Role overview

ACG Growth Partners is recruiting an experienced Financial Adviser / Financial Planner on behalf of an established independent financial planning and wealth management practice in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).

The successful candidate will develop and manage long-term client relationships, deliver compliant holistic financial advice and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. A CFP professional is preferred, although strong advisers with the appropriate regulatory standing and experience will also be considered.

Key responsibilities

  • Build, service and grow a portfolio of financial planning clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive Financial Needs Analyses and identify clients’ short-, medium- and long-term objectives.
  • Provide compliant advice across investments, retirement planning, risk, estate planning and related financial planning areas.
  • Prepare and present appropriate recommendations and maintain complete advice documentation.
  • Conduct regular client portfolio reviews and maintain strong ongoing client relationships.
  • Develop new business through referrals, networking and professional relationship-building.
  • Identify cross-planning opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Maintain appropriate FAIS, FICA and internal compliance standards.
  • Work closely with paraplanning and administration support to ensure accurate and timely implementation.
  • Contribute positively to the practice’s growth, client retention and professional reputation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Three to five years’ relevant Financial Adviser / Financial Planner experience preferred.
  • RE5 and appropriate FAIS regulatory standing.
  • A relevant NQF Level 5 or higher financial services or financial planning qualification.
  • Proven experience providing holistic financial advice.
  • Demonstrable client management and relationship-building ability.
  • Sound knowledge of investments, retirement planning and risk solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional, ethical and client-centric approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFP designation.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent.
  • Existing exposure to affluent and high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong investment and retirement planning capability.
  • An established referral network or a proven new-business track record.
  • Experience operating within an independent financial planning practice.

Skills and competencies

  • Commercially driven while maintaining a strong advice-led approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong planning, presentation and negotiation capability.
  • The ability to build trust and maintain long-term client relationships.
