Workshop Foreman

Our client is seeking a Workshop Foreman to manage technical activities and ensure the running of an automotive workshop in the Eastern Cape. This role will suit a confident leader with strong vehicle maintenance knowledge and the ability to ensure technicians deliver efficient, high-quality workmanship

Duties

• Oversee workshop repairs, servicing and maintenance activities
• Plan and distribute daily work to workshop personnel
• Monitor job progress and ensure deadlines are achieved
• Assist technicians with technical advice and fault diagnosis
• Check vehicles before and after repairs where required
• Ensure repairs are completed in line with manufacturer and workshop standards
• Monitor productivity, rework and workshop efficiency
• Ensure correct use of tools, diagnostic equipment and workshop machinery
• Identify additional repair requirements and communicate these appropriately
• Work with service advisors to provide progress updates
• Assist with resolving technical and customer-related queries
• Maintain workshop discipline, safety and housekeeping standards
• Support the development and performance of workshop staff

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Millwright Trade Test
• Electrical Engineering Diploma advantageous
• Previous experience in a workshop supervisory or foreman position
• Automotive workshop experience, preferably within a dealership or structured repair environment
• Knowledge of mechanical and vehicle diagnostic systems
• Experience supervising technicians or workshop personnel
• Good understanding of job cards, workshop procedures and quality checks
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workshop pressure
• Attention to detail and a customer-focused approach
