New Product Developer - Western Cape

An opportunity is available for a New Product Developer to development and launch new products for our client in Western Cape. The successful candidate will handle the product development from concept and testing to production, while ensuring quality and commercial requirements are met

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine new product concepts
• Coordinate product trials, samples and prototypes
• Conduct product testing and evaluate results
• Assist with product specifications and technical documentation
• Work closely with production, quality and technical teams
• Identify opportunities to improve existing products and processes
• Investigate product-related challenges and implement corrective actions
• Support the transfer of successful products into production
• Monitor development projects and ensure agreed timelines are maintained
• Assist with cost optimisation and production feasibility assessments
• Maintain accurate records of product development activities
• Ensure development activities comply with relevant quality and operational standards

Minimum Requirements

• Matric.
• National Diploma Food Science/ Food Technology
• Previous experience in a product development or manufacturing environment
• Experience with product testing, trials or prototyping
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and documentation
• Good organisational and project coordination skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
