Structural Engineer

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our client's established consulting engineering team in Hilton, KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of structural engineering projects within a multidisciplinary consulting environment, with responsibility for the analysis, design and delivery of technically diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and structural steel structures.
• Undertake the design of bridges, culverts, retaining structures, and buildings.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Undertake structural inspections, condition assessments, and rehabilitation work.
• Provide technical support during construction and assist with construction monitoring.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Assist with project management, proposals, and tender submissions.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Ensure projects are delivered to the required quality standards and in accordance with relevant SANS, TMH, and structural design codes.
• Contribute to BIM and digital engineering workflows.
• Assist with contract administration and project delivery requirements.
• Manage project deliverables and ensure work is completed within required deadlines and specifications.

Requirements

• BEng, BSc, or BTech in Civil Engineering.
• Registered Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA.
• A Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field will be advantageous.
• Experience within a consulting engineering environment.
• Strong experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
• Experience with bridge and transportation structures.
• Experience in prestressed concrete design.
• Experience with structural inspections, assessments, and rehabilitation.
• Working knowledge of relevant SANS, TMH, and structural design standards and codes.
• Experience with construction monitoring and contract administration.
• Exposure to BIM and digital engineering workflows.
• Project management experience will be advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Prokon.
• Experience with Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis.
• MIDAS Civil will be advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office / MS Software.
• Strong structural analysis and design capabilities.
