Millwright - Eastern Cape

Our client is seeking a Trade Tested Fitter to provide technical mechanical maintenance support in their facility. This position requires a candidate to respond to breakdowns and support preventative maintenance and plant reliability

Duties

• Mechanical maintenance and repairs on production equipment
• Investigate and rectify mechanical breakdowns
• Perform preventative maintenance according to planned schedules
• Inspect machinery and mechanical components for wear and damage
• Maintain and repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and associated equipment
• Replace bearings, seals, couplings and other mechanical components
• Assist with machinery installations and equipment upgrades
• Participate in planned maintenance shutdowns
• Conduct mechanical inspections and identify potential risks
• Interpret mechanical drawings and equipment specifications
• Complete maintenance documentation and job cards
• Liaise with production teams to address equipment-related issues
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and maintenance standards

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Fitter Trade Test
• Food/ beverage FMCG maintenance experience
• Mechanical fault-finding and repair abilities
• Experience working with rotating equipment and mechanical drives
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles
• Ability to interpret technical and mechanical drawings
