Java Developer

Our client is seeking a motivated Java Developer to join their technology team. The successful candidate will assist with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining reliable Java-based applications and services. This role is suited to a junior to intermediate developer who enjoys problem-solving, writing clean code, and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.

Education

• BSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
• Honours degree advantageous
• Relevant Java development certifications or demonstrable project experience advantageous

Experience

• Junior to intermediate experience in Java software development
• Experience developing or maintaining applications using Java
• Exposure to REST APIs, databases, and version control
• Exposure to Agile development and software testing advantageous

Key Requirements

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and core Java concepts
• Knowledge of Spring or Spring Boot advantageous
• Understanding of RESTful services and API integration
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Ability to write readable, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Willingness to learn, take feedback, and contribute to team delivery
