SAS AML Technical Business Analyst

Our client is seeking an experienced SAS AML Technical Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. This opportunity is suited to a professional with strong business analysis capabilities, hands-on SAS AML experience, and a background in telecommunications systems and billing processes. The successful candidate will translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements while driving effective system improvements and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse change requests and identify impacted systems, applications, integrations, and business processes.
• Evaluate existing IT systems and workflows to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Facilitate requirements gathering, analysis, and solution design sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
• Prepare functional and technical specifications, user stories, data flow diagrams, and system interface requirements.
• Develop and present requirements documentation, including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), High-Level Designs (HLDs), and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
• Obtain approval from business owners and relevant stakeholders for requirements and analysis documentation.
• Support the definition of business requirements and ensure alignment with technical delivery expectations.
• Provide testing guidelines, assist with test planning, and support the resolution of testing issues.
• Track project deliverables, risks, issues, and change requests while providing progress updates to team leads.
• Facilitate technical discussions, contribute to project meetings, and mentor less experienced team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and strengthen collaboration between business and IT.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of business analysis experience.
• Five or more years of SAS AML experience.
• Three to five years of telecommunications business analysis experience, ideally within fixed-line or GSM environments.
• Knowledge of telecommunications billing systems, processes, and operations.
• Strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, databases, and enterprise architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and reporting tools.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Excellent documentation, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Advantageous

• CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile Business Analyst certification.
• Experience with cloud platforms and complex enterprise system integrations.
• Proven ability to lead requirements workshops and obtain stakeholder agreement on proposed solutions.

Work Conditions

• Office-based contract position.
• Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
• Occasional travel may be required for client or stakeholder engagements.
