Technical Sales & Support Consultant

Redaptec Technical Consultants is looking for a young, energetic, and motivated IT Technician to join our team and provide professional IT support services to our diverse client base throughout South Africa.

The successful candidate will be responsible for remote support and maintenance of client IT infrastructure as well as onsite support where required, and assisting with hardware and software quotations.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Remote support and maintenance of IT infrastructure for various clients.
• Remote support via TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or similar applications.
• Telephonic support to clients.
• Travel to client sites as and when needed.

Key Responsibilities Technical

• Remote and onsite maintenance of client server and desktop infrastructure.
• Attend to and resolve client support requests efficiently.
• Manage assigned helpdesk tickets and ensure timely completion.
• Perform network installations and cabling.

Key Responsibilities Sales

• Assist with the sourcing, pricing, and preparation of hardware and software quotations for customers.
• Liaise with suppliers and distributors regarding product availability and pricing.
• Assist with procurement-related administration.

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (written and verbal).
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT support role.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Own reliable transport.
• Matric certificate.
• Sober habits.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• A+, N+ and/or equivalent Microsoft desktop qualifications.
• Knowledge of macOS and iOS.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10 and newer).
• Strong understanding of hardware components and troubleshooting procedures (desktop and server environments).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including installation and configuration.
• Good understanding of Microsoft 365, which will include but not limited to:
  • Entra ID, Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online, Azure & Teams

Technical Skills & Experience

Microsoft Environment

The successful candidate should be able to:

• Install, configure, and support Microsoft desktop operating systems.
• Install and support Microsoft and third-party business applications.
• Configure and support Microsoft Outlook.
• Support Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Deploy and configure Microsoft 365 environments.
• Install and configure printers.
• Deploy and support remote access tools such as TeamViewer.
• Troubleshoot desktop, server, and end-user hardware issues.
• Diagnose and resolve general IT-related problems.
• Configure and maintain antivirus solutions.

Apple Environment

• Working experience with macOS.
• Basic support and troubleshooting of Apple devices.

Mobile Devices

• Android setup and configuration.
• Apple iOS setup and configuration.

Network Installations

• Ability to install and terminate network cabling.
• Ability to pull network cables when required.
• Configuration of LAN networking equipment.
• Basic networking troubleshooting skills.

Advantageous Qualifications & Experience

The following will be advantageous:

• Experience with CAT5 and CAT6 cabling installations.
• Microsoft certifications would be beneficial.
• Relevant IT diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
• Previous experience supporting Microsoft 365 business environments.
• Experience with server administration and networking.

Salary: R12,000 per month

Remuneration: Dependent on qualifications, certifications, and experience.
