The Junior Bookkeeper will be responsible for handling complete financial record-keeping, managing accounts payable and receivable, executing bank reconciliations, processing monthly payroll, and ensuring full compliance with SARS eFiling and statutory returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping & Ledgers: Perform full bookkeeping, maintain complete financial records, and manage debtors and creditors.
- Invoicing & Reconciliations: Handle daily invoicing, payments, expenses, and monthly bank and account reconciliations.
- Payroll & Statutory Compliance: Process monthly payroll via Sage Payroll, calculate PAYE and UIF statutory deductions, and handle VAT and SARS eFiling submissions.
- Reporting & Audit Support: Compile monthly financial reports, maintain accounting schedules, prepare management accounts, and assist with audit preparations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 2–3 years of practical, hands-on bookkeeping and accounting experience.
- Software Proficiency: Direct hands-on experience using Sage Accounting and Sage Payroll.
- Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills and solid knowledge of core accounting principles.
- Statutory Knowledge: Practical knowledge of SARS eFiling, VAT returns, PAYE, and UIF submissions in South Africa.
