Head of Regulatory Compliance, Gauteng, R2.5m pa

A new bank is being built and you get to be part of it.

The Head of Regulatory Compliance owns the Bank's Compliance Risk Management Framework (CRMF) across its full regulatory universe, excluding the financial crime obligations owned by the Head of FCC. This role identifies, interprets and embeds the Bank's obligations under prudential, conduct and other applicable legislation, maintains the regulatory universe and obligations register, coordinates regulatory change management, and gives the Board and Exco assurance that the Bank's day-to-day operations comply with its regulatory licence conditions as it builds out as a new entrant to the market.

• Strong regulatory interpretation skills and the ability to translate legislation into practical, workable policy.
• Sound understanding of compliance monitoring and testing methodologies.
• Skilled at managing regulatory relationships with confidence and credibility.
• Clear policy drafting and training design capability.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple specialist compliance functions (FCC, Conduct and POPIA, FRAML) without duplicating effort.

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Risk Management or a related field.
• A recognised compliance qualification (e.g. Compliance Institute of South Africa practising certificate) strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years' compliance experience within banking or financial services, including at least 5 years in a senior regulatory compliance leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience building or materially uplifting a compliance risk management framework, ideally including experience in a new or scaling institution.
• Proven track record engaging with the Prudential Authority, FSCA and/or National Credit Regulator, including managing inspections and information requests.
• Experience designing and executing compliance monitoring plans and driving remediation to closure.

R180k to R210k pm plus bonuses
