Production Technician – Crypto Production

Lesaka Technologies

About the role

We’re looking for a skilled electronics technician to join our Crypto Production team. You’ll work across production, maintenance and new development, diagnosing faults down to component level, building and repairing circuit boards, and helping keep our products moving from the bench to the customer. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems with a scope in one hand and a soldering iron in the other.

What you’ll do

  • Fault-find and repair electronic assemblies at component level
  • Test circuits and diagnose faults using oscilloscopes, multimeters and power supplies
  • Read and interpret schematics, circuit diagrams (analog and digital), technical drawings and equipment manuals
  • Design and assemble test jigs
  • Solder, desolder, wire, assemble and prototype electronic circuits, and repair PCBs
  • Carry out mechanical assembly and quality control
  • Load firmware onto microprocessors and run software-based diagnostic tests
  • Support new product development alongside the production team

What you’ll need

  • National Diploma (T3 or S3) in Electronic Engineering (Light Current) or higher
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar technical environment
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, microprocessors) and how they’re applied
  • Excellent soldering and desoldering skills
  • Proven experience designing and building test jigs
  • Computer literacy
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Advantageous

  • Experience loading firmware and using software diagnostic tools
  • AutoCAD for mechanical drawings
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout experience
