Financial Manager

We are looking for a dedicated, analytical, and results-driven Financial Manager to join our growing Insurance Finance Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and accounting functions of various companies within the division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, effective financial controls, and the smooth execution of monthly and annual financial processes.

• Oversee the full accounting and financial management functions of companies within the Insurance Finance Department.

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial planning.

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, taxation requirements, and relevant legislation.

• Monitor financial performance, identify discrepancies, and recommend improvements.

• Maintain effective financial controls and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records.

• Manage month-end and year-end accounting processes.

• Provide financial insights and reports to management to support strategic decision-making.

• Lead, support, and guide the finance team to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of departmental objectives.

• Relevant finance or accounting degree.

• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar financial management or senior accounting role.

• SAICA/SAIPA articles and professional membership will be advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, forecasting, and management accounts.

• Proven leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to oversee financial operations and manage tasks independently.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• High attention to detail and a strong understanding of financial controls and compliance.

• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise responsibilities, and meet strict deadlines.

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple financial functions across different companies.
