Recro Business Services is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented

ACCA Trainee Accountant to join our growing, multi-disciplinary accounting, audit and tax practice in Panorama, Cape Town.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a diverse portfolio of clients, supporting entrepreneurs in managing and growing their businesses. You will build a strong foundation in accounting, taxation, compliance and client service, with opportunities to develop your technical skills and take on greater responsibilities as you progress through your training.

Key Responsibilities

The role offers exposure to a variety of accounting and financial responsibilities, including:

• Bookkeeping and Accounting: Manage bookkeeping and accounting functions for a portfolio of clients, from processing transactions through to trial balance.
• Management Accounts: Assist with monthly journals, reconciliations and the preparation of meaningful management accounts.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare VAT, PAYE, UIF and income tax calculations and returns.
• SARS Liaison: Assist with SARS queries, correspondence and appointments.
• Audit Support: Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation under the guidance of senior team members.
• Financial Reporting: Develop your technical knowledge progressively, with opportunities for exposure to financial statement preparation during your third year of training.
• Client Service: Communicate professionally with clients, follow up on outstanding information and contribute to the effective management of their financial affairs.
• Continuous Development: Apply your learning, ask questions, take initiative and build your technical competence throughout your ACCA training.

You Should Have

• A completed relevant accounting or finance degree, or be at an appropriate stage of your accounting studies.
• A clear intention to pursue the ACCA qualification and eligibility to register or continue with ACCA, in accordance with its requirements.
• A sound understanding of financial accounting and taxation principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
• A proactive attitude, resourcefulness and a willingness to ask questions and learn.
• A sense of accountability and ownership over assigned responsibilities.

Relevant practical accounting experience would be advantageous.
