EXPERIENCED LIVE-OUT HOUSEKEEPER WANTED – DURBAN NORTH

We are looking for an honest, reliable and experienced housekeeper for a large family home in Durban North. We are a family of four and need someone who takes pride in keeping a home clean, tidy and well organised.

Must be a dog lover! We have two large dogs and four small dogs. You must be confident around all six and willing to feed them according to their individual instructions and feeding times.

Requirements and responsibilities

• Proven domestic cleaning experience with contactable references.
• Able to speak and understand English, follow instructions carefully and ask when unsure.
• Confident cleaning and maintaining a large home.
• Understand cleaning products, their correct uses and appropriate quantities.
• Use detergents responsibly, avoid waste, monitor supplies and report shortages.
• Know how to use washing machines and laundry equipment, sort clothing, follow care labels and select suitable wash programmes.
• Good ironing and folding skills.
• Learn which clothes belong to each family member, put everything into the correct cupboards and keep wardrobes and drawers organised.
• Be punctual, responsible, trustworthy and able to work independently.
• Be able to travel reliably to Durban North.

Cooking skills would be a bonus.

Working hours

Monday–Friday: 07h30–16h30, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

Two Saturdays per month: 07h30–13h00, including an agreed 30-minute unpaid meal break.

Salary and incentives

R5,500 per month, with performance incentives of up to an additional R1,000 per month.

A one-month paid trial period applies. Incentives will depend on work performance, reliability, following instructions and consistently meeting the household’s standards.
