Senior Project Engineer – Mechanical / HVAC

Introduction

An established engineering company is seeking an experienced

Senior Project Engineer with a strong Mechanical Engineering background and proven expertise in HVAC system design, technical project management and manufacturing support.

The successful candidate must be capable of independently managing complex engineering projects from concept and design through to production, testing and implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering and HVAC projects from concept to completion.
• Design, size, select and optimise HVAC systems and components.
• Develop concept, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), specifications and manufacturing data packs.
• Ensure engineering documentation complies with ISO and relevant quality standards.
• Conduct qualification testing, failure investigations and technical reporting.
• Research and source appropriate engineering components.
• Liaise with clients on technical requirements and project deliverables.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, operations and field service teams.
• Analyse product performance and implement engineering improvements.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering – essential.
• 8–10+ years' relevant mechanical engineering experience preferred, including substantial HVAC or related system design experience.
• Proven experience independently managing engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes and technical documentation.
• Experience preparing BOMs, technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• SolidWorks CAD experience advantageous.
• FEA/CFD experience advantageous.
• Strong technical problem-solving, analytical and project management abilities.
• Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
• Valid driver's licence.

Package & Remuneration

Up to R900,000 per annum Cost to Company, depending on experience and qualifications.

Package Includes Company Benefits Within The Total CTC Structure.
