Test Manager
LTM
We're Hiring: Test Manager (Insurance domain experience mandatory)
1. Role purpose
The QA Lead / Test Manager is the onsite quality leader for the CASC QA testers and the Onboarding Agile Release Train. Reporting into the Client’s Test Manager, the role directs the CASC testers day to day, making sure that system integration and end-to-end testing are coordinated across every team and interface on the train, and brings the QA processes used by those teams into line with Client’s QA standards.
The role is a leadership and test management role rather than an execution role. Success means predictable, evidence-based quality decisions: testing that is planned against risk, integration issues surfaced early, defects triaged consistently, and release readiness reported in a form the Client’s Test Manager and ART leadership can act on.
2. Key responsibilities
- Responsibilities (a) to (c) are the primary responsibilities stated by Client’s and carry the greatest weight in assessment.
- Responsibilities (d) to (h) reflect the wider QA leadership and test management scope of the Client’s RFQ and are performed in support of the primary three.
(a) Leading the CASC QA testers – PRIMARY
- Plan, allocate and prioritize the daily and iteration work of the CASC QA testers in line with ART and Client’s Test Manager priorities.
- Run regular stand-ups, test progress reviews and workload balancing so that testing keeps pace with development across iterations.
- Review test cases, test evidence and defect reports produced by the testers for quality, coverage and consistency.
- Coach, mentor and onboard testers, including new joiners, and provide performance-management input to the Client’s Test Manager and LTM line managers.
- Act as the escalation point for testers on blockers, environment issues, unclear requirements and cross-team dependencies.
(b) Integration testing across the Onboarding ART – PRIMARY
- Coordinate system integration testing (SIT) and end-to-end testing across the Scrum teams on the Onboarding ART, including third-party and other-system interfaces.
- Contribute to PI planning: identify integration test dependencies, record them on the program board and agree test milestones with teams and the RTE.
- Maintain an interface and integration inventory (APIs, services, batch and file interfaces, events) with ownership, test coverage and environment readiness for each.
- Plan integrated test cycles aligned to iterations and system demos, including entry criteria, sequencing, test data and environment bookings.
- Track cross-team integration defects and dependencies to closure and raise risks through ART forums.
(c) Standardizing and aligning QA processes – PRIMARY
- Assess current QA practices across the CASC testers and ART teams against Client’s QA standards and document the gaps.
- Define or adopt standard templates (test strategy, test plan, test summary report), entry and exit criteria, and quality gates for Client’s gate definitions.
- Standardize the defect lifecycle, severity and priority definitions, and the triage process across teams.
- Establish requirements-to-test traceability, Definition of Ready and Definition of Done test criteria, and a common regression approach.
- Standardize status reporting, environment booking and test data request processes, then roll the standards out, train teams and measure adoption.
(d) Test management and planning
- Prepare and maintain test approaches and test plans for releases and features in scope, aligned to the Client’s test strategy.
- Estimate test effort, schedule test activities and allocate resources across testing streams.
- Review requirements and acceptance criteria for testability; apply risk-based testing to focus coverage on the highest business and technical risks.
- Oversee functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end and non-functional testing performed by the test teams.
(e) Defects, UAT, environments, test data and release readiness
- Chair or support defect triage, ensure consistent prioritization and escalate blocking or high-severity defects promptly.
- Plan UAT with business users, coordinate business readiness and support UAT defect management.
- Coordinate test environment availability and test data provisioning with environment and data teams.
- Prepare release readiness assessments and go-live quality sign-off recommendations for the Client’s Test Manager, and support deployment and post-release verification.
(f) Governance, risk and reporting
- Manage testing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies, with mitigation plans and clear stakeholder communication.
- Produce QA metrics, dashboards and executive-level quality reports with insights and recommendations.
- Provide quality status, risk assessments and decision support to project, program and ART governance forums.
(g) Automation and continuous improvement oversight
- Oversee the alignment of test automation with the Client’s automation strategy, including regression automation coverage and its integration into CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify improvements to testing processes, quality controls, tooling and automation maturity, and track their benefits.
(h) Compliance and stakeholder collaboration
- Ensure testing complies with Client’s QA standards and policies, and with applicable regulatory and audit requirements, including retention of test evidence.
- Work with business, technology, delivery, architecture, security and vendor teams to keep quality objectives aligned with delivery commitments.
