About the Role

As a Mechanical Draughtsman, you will play a critical role in the design and development of mechanical systems and components. Your primary focus will be on creating detailed technical drawings and schematics that assist engineers and manufacturers in bringing projects to life. This position requires you to have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of engineering principles and drafting techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce precise 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using Solidworx.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and project guidelines.
  • Modify and update existing drawings based on feedback and project changes.
  • Conduct regular checks and revisions to ensure accuracy and functionality of designs.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications and assembly instructions.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation for ease of reference and compliance checking.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least five (5) years' demonstrable experience in mechanical drafting and design using SolidWorx, specifically in the moving equipment industry.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineering and design teams.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in drafting and design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Solidworx or mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with project management practices and tools.
  • Exposure to various mechanical systems, such as HVAC, piping, or structural components.
